Serendipity School Year Program
Here at Serendipity, we know that children are individuals with unique needs and personalities and develop at their own pace. Our school is child-oriented with a focus on hands on learning, socialization, and play. Each classroom explores a variety of subjects and incorporates different areas of curriculum based on the age and interests of the children. All classrooms engage in rhythm and movement, dramatic play, food projects, gardening, and group activities. In addition to these subjects, our older classrooms also participate in community outreach activities and field trips. Our Pre-K classrooms include academic curriculum like letter recognition, writing, counting, simple addition, vocabulary development, and environmental awareness, which are implemented in order to prepare children for Kindergarten. Serendipity participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Each child receives a healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack every day. We emphasize homemade foods that are low in sugar and are not highly processed. We serve lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Our meals are served family style, with teachers eating at the same tables as the children.
Serendipity has a limited number of spaces for families who plan on getting financial assistance through the Children Youth and Families Department in order to pay tuition. Please call us if you have questions regarding availability.
Serendipity is a proud supporter of Kids Love to Dance and Music on the West Side. Parents have the opportunity to enroll their child in weekly extra curricular classes held on site.
